In support of continuous expansion and growth in retail markets, Wincor Nixdorf is delighted to announce the appointment of Alan Taylor to the role of Director, Retail Division UK. Alan will report to Paul Fisher, UK Managing Director and becomes a UK Board member.
Alan will focus on broadening the range of solutions delivered to retail markets and with 30 years experience in retail and distribution, brings excellent credentials to this challenge.
Previously, Alan was on the main board of Argos Retail Group (now Home Retail), instrumental in the Homebase acquisition and running the £2bn GUS Home Shopping division including its sale to the Barclay brothers, and subsequent integration with Littlewoods. More recently he has worked on various private equity transactions, commercial process and due diligence projects.
Prior to this, he founded and sold technology advisory and venture capital firm E-Insight and ran the £400m Nintendo distributor THE. He has also held commercial and financial roles in other major retail brands including Safeway, Arcadia and Asda.
