Gissing Software, solution specialists in the routing and transformation of real-time market and trade data, today announced the immediate availability of Gissing RealtimeXL 3.0, its high performance Microsoft Excel add-in.

The latest release incorporates a number of improved usability features including an enhanced toolbar, data viewer, administration interface and a number of wizard formula builders, making it even easier for traders to handle and manipulate real-time market data within Microsoft Excel.

Gissing RealtimeXL 3.0 delivers three new wizard formula builders - allowing users to quickly discover and access live or historical data in formats such as tables and chains. For example, the Chain Wizard enables users to process chained data, such as FTSE 100 stock prices, with a single click and to unsnap data chains as required. The Table Wizard makes it quick and easy for users to identify and filter multiple real-time data records from providers such as Reuters and Bloomberg and incorporate this data within the appropriate table. The History Wizard allows users to easily select historical data for inclusion in their spreadsheets by specifying any two of a start date, end date and duration. All the wizards support record and field discovery where provided by the data platform.

A newly improved Data Viewer has been introduced with enhanced filtering of data, allowing users to easily track subscription data and monitor and debug their spreadsheets. In addition, the Admin GUI has been updated to provide more intuitive administration, configuration and management capabilities.

Connectivity between Gissing RealtimeXL and Gissing's multi-vendor contributions system has also been optimised in the latest release with the inclusion of dedicated Gissing RealtimeXL handlers for Gissing ConteX MCS. The result is an optimised, low latency solution for the use of spreadsheets in the subscription to, and contribution of market data.

Nick Braybrooke, product manager for Gissing RealtimeXL said: "Since releasing Gissing RealtimeXL version 2.2 in October 2006 we have seen significant uptake of the product. Users have been impressed with the speed and high performance of the software, particularly when compared against rival applications. Version 3.0 adds significant usability enhancements, together with a further improvement in performance, allowing buy-side and sell-side users to benefit from both greater flexibility and maximum performance."
