Clydesdale Bank and Yorkshire Bank (members of the National Australia Group) have delivered an exciting new product – the ‘Prepaid Travel Card’ - to their customers using the expertise and technology provided by PrePay Technologies Ltd., the market leader in designing and delivering stored value card solutions.

The Prepaid Travel Card is available in 3 currencies; £ sterling, € Euro and $ US - one to suit most travel destinations. Users receive a guaranteed exchange rate for € Euro and $ US when the card is loaded, giving them the ability to plan and budget their travel or holiday spending in advance.
The card can be used to shop wherever Maestro is accepted; at millions of outlets on the high street or the Internet. The card also enables ATM cash withdrawals at over one million cash machines displaying the Maestro™, MasterCard™ and Cirrus™ logos.
The launch is the latest in a series of initiatives being delivered by the Clydesdale / Yorkshire - PrePay Technologies partnership, which include the Splash Plastic Card and a host of other innovative card products.
Brent Skeffington, Head of Emerging Business, Direct Banking, National Australia Group, said: "We are thrilled to be one of the first financial institutions in the UK to launch a prepaid travel card programme and that the partnership with PrePay Technologies continues to deliver results. The Prepaid Travel Card complements our existing product portfolios and removes some of the stress our customers experience whilst travelling. It will also help us build upon existing customer loyalty. We aim to extend this offering to a wider audience in the near future."
Philippe Dufour, CEO at PrePay Technologies Limited, states that: "The launch of the Clydesdale and Yorkshire bank's Prepaid Travel Card to their customers is an extremely exciting development. We have been working with the National Australia Group for a number of years, and this launch represents a wonderful endorsement of our services and the stability of our business model. We look forward to delivering additional value to them through our stored value card programmes in the future."
The bank's Prepaid Travel Card is a secure and convenient alternative to travellers cheques, with added PIN protection for ATM cash withdrawals. Also, unlike travellers chequques, users can withdraw cash in the local currency from the ATMs - thus avoiding the need to have their passport with them when they want to get cash abroad.
