Syntegra to demo video turret at SIA

Syntegra is to launch its new ITS Video Turret, powered by Avistar Communications, at the Securities Industry Association technology management conference and exhibit in New York this week.

On display for the first time, the ITS Video Turret promises integration of voice and video communication, allowing face-to-face interaction at the trading desktop. Syntegra says it will demonstrate how traders can use the technology to make two-way or multi-party collaborative video calls; record themselves or their calls for later playback; create video presentations; and bring in live video (e.g. CNN) or documents (such as spreadsheets or PowerPoints) to discuss with call participants.

The system works through the integration of Avistar's video operating system, AvistarVOS, with the ITS voice trading and the ITS Myriad collaborative trading platforms. Also on display at the show, ITS Myriad and Wireless ITS Myriad are designed to link clients, colleagues and trading partners allowing them to communicate using any channel - such as voice, web, e-mail, mobile, and instant messaging.

Also new at SIA will be Syntegra's ITSmonitor - an enhancement to the ITS Management suite of products - offering improved fault reporting and management by utilising the remote monitoring capability inherent in Syntegra's ITS telephony switches.

Further functionality to be introduced for the first time at SIA is ITSlink Call Assistant, an application designed to handle individual call activity - including support for golden DDI (Direct Dial In) numbers ensuring that premium service is offered to priority clients, and 'click-dial' to simplify the making of outgoing calls or the retrieval of missed or previous calls, linking the relevant information from the contact database.
