Mobile data company 724 Solutions has launched an end-to-end notification solution - Message Service - that provides confirmed delivery and receipt of wireless alerts to users around the globe.
The service has been developed with Paris-based MobileWay and California-based MobileSys. By leveraging these firms' direct carrier connections, Message Service provides immediate access to more than 90 per cent of carriers worldwide, says 724.
John Sims, chief executive officer, 724 Solutions, notes that with time-sensitive information, quick, global end-to-end delivery is critical. "Through alliances with MobileWay and MobileSys, our Message Service can reach end-users around the world, and saves our customer the challenge of building individual relationships with the carriers themselves," he says.
The service's notification engine provides a single queue that allows a user or administrator to monitor the status of alerts delivered to the 724 Solutions message centre, pager networks and e-mail channels. It also enables a customer to connect directly to a carrier short message service centre (SMSC) or pager network in cases where most alerts are delivered through a single carrier.
The message centre takes alerts generated by applications at a customer site and routes them to MobileSys or MobileWay for quick delivery to the carrier from a secure hosted environment. 724 Solutions then monitors the quality of service and routes responses and message confirmations back to the enterprise.
