ANZ introduces mobile cash management

ANZ is preparing to launch an iOS app that will enable corporate customers to manage their Australian and New Zealand cash management activities on the go.

The bank has teamed with vendor Bottomline Technologies on the mobile version of its Transactive service, enabling corporate customers to monitor account balances, view current and prior day transactions, and approve or reject payments through their iPhones, iPads and iPod touches.

The service will be rolled out in Australian and New Zealand in the fourth quarter, with key Asia Pacific markets following soon after. ANZ is also already working on an improved version, with better security, payments and FX rates functionality, as well as support for non-Apple devices.

The bank says that the service is a recognition that the consumer reliance on mobile technology is bleeding into the corporate world. Earlier this year HSBC boasted that its new mobile service for corporate treasurers and senior managers had proved a huge hit in Asia Pacific, where it was used to authorise $500 million in transactions in 19 countries in its first 19 weeks.

Anne Collard, global head, product and channel management, payments and cash management, ANZ, says: "By recognising that CFOs and Treasurers are increasingly spending more time on the go, we wanted to give our clients a fast, simple and convenient mobile banking experience that enables them to be as productive on the road as they are in the office."
