Today, we're announcing an update to our PayPal Here app so that merchants can continue to spend less time worrying about getting paid and more time focusing on their business and customers. The update boasts a whole new look for PayPal Here, including several functional and performance updates that improve the way our merchants will do business. These new features will only enhance the experience of our satisfied and growing merchant base, which according to a recent survey, SMB owners that have switched to PayPal Here reported increases in sales.

Easy access to check-in and credit cards

Beginning today, the new app is available for iPhone® and Android™. Now, customers have the option to make payments before, during or after a merchant adds items to the cart. Also, a card can be swiped at any point along the payment process to complete a transaction.

Speedy transactions

For merchants with a large collection of items for sale, a new search capability helps them locate the correct one faster. Merchants can easily add custom or "off menu" items on the fly, as well as creating special pricing for those items too.

Whichever method you use, the checkout process requires less taps overall, meaning faster transactions and happier customers.

Improved organization

The new app presents an itemized view of a customer's cart so merchants can update quantities, edit discounts, and otherwise adjust a purchase before making it final. Emailed or texted receipts are also itemized. Making it even easier to send e-receipts after a transaction, customer contact info will be pre-filled based on information in a PayPal member's account.

Survey Shows Merchants Increase Revenue Using PayPal Here

According to a recent survey of merchants, small businesses that have switched to PayPal Here have reported increases in sales. In some cases, businesses have seen a 25 percent increase in revenue, and 17 percent report a higher volume of sales thanks to being able to take credit cards.* Additionally, 54 percent of small business owners have said PayPal Here has positively impacted their business- citing flexibility, ease of use and security among the top product benefits. **
