The MICROS Payment Gateway is integrated with Planet Payment's "Pay in Your Currency" service.

With Pay in Your Currency, international consumers can enjoy a more comfortable shopping and lodging experience by knowing what they are paying in their home currency, while simultaneously providing the merchant with an opportunity to reduce the processing costs incurred on these transactions.

Pay in Your Currency can offer significant value-added benefits to Banorte merchants and their customers. Eligible international customers are offered the convenience of paying in their home currency at the point-of-sale. Customers are presented with a receipt or shown a point-of-sale terminal which displays the transaction amounts in Mexican Pesos and their home currency (as well as the exchange rate and other service details); customers then select the currency they wish to pay in on the receipt or terminal.

Banorte's launch of the MICROS Payment Gateway also facilitates integrated payment support for the MICROS suite of enterprise hospitality products. The MICROS Payment Gateway, hosted and operated within Planet Payment's data center and integrated to its global processing platform, supports Pay in Your Currency, acceptance of EMV "chip" and magnetic stripe cards and on-line reporting for acquiring banks and their merchants. By processing card payments directly through the hotel's property management system and eliminating the reliance on stand-alone point-of-sale terminals, the solution allows hospitality merchants to reduce operational expense, streamline night-audit reconciliation processes, facilitate EMV and PCI compliance and ultimately offer guests a more secure and seamless check-in and check-out process.
