Callataÿ & Wouters, a global leader in core banking software and services, is pleased to announce the completion of two projects for Dutch bank NIBC.

Their online banking startup in Belgium launched in late 2011 with Callataÿ & Wouters' Thaler software solution, and very recently, the main office in the Netherlands switched to Thaler as well.

NIBC is a Dutch commercial bank with corporate banking activities covering a combination of advice, financing and co-investment activities and consumer banking activities including residential mortgages and online retail saving deposits via NIBC Direct in The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. The bank was looking for a new software solution for its savings and term deposit products. This challenge was unique because the solution needed to be applied twice - both in a new project for NIBC's new direct bank branch in Belgium, and in a migration plan for the Dutch office.

"Callataÿ & Wouters had the most comprehensive offer," says Michel Kant, Head of Consumer Banking at NIBC, "They came well-prepared, with a thorough methodology and a proven solution." NIBC decided to adopt Thaler for its direct banking branch in Belgium. As a purely online bank, since late 2011, NIBC Direct Belgium offers standard financial services to its customers without the overhead cost of maintaining offices or burdening clients with bureaucracy.

The second part was migrating NIBC Direct in the Netherlands to Thaler. "Team spirit, commitment and collaboration within the team as well as with the partners involved remained very high throughout the implementation period," notes Marco Witteveen, Head of Technology & Operations, "Whenever there was an issue, the people from Callataÿ & Wouters were very quick to respond."

"I'm proud that our work for NIBC again shows that we can work with the same customer across various regions," notes Marc De Groote, CEO of Callataÿ & Wouters, "We pride ourselves on localizing versions of Thaler to the specific needs of each country we work in, and that seems to pay off." Marco Witteveen concludes: "Since both projects have gone live, I'm glad that we now have one address to turn to for service and updates. I'm confident that Callataÿ & Wouters will continue to deliver."
