Kobil Systems, a market leader specializing in advanced IT security technology announced today a partnership with IdenTrust, a provider of the only worldwide network of trusted identity credentials based on global standards established by the financial services community.

KOBIL and IdenTrust are collaborating on the unique approach to identity authentication that thwarts man-in-the-browser and other fraudulent attacks. The joint solution allows financial institutions to improve and expand clients' trust with online banking applications - combining the highest level of protection against sophisticated security threats with a legally and globally interoperable environment for authenticating and using Trusted Identities. As this portable identity is stored within a secure USB token, it also significantly reduces deployment and support costs.

An IdenTrust credential delivers the benefits of a two-factor, real-time identity authentication and digital signature that cannot be repudiated and is legally binding in 172 countries. In the joint offering, the IdenTrust credential and compliant signing plug-in are delivered on the KOBIL mIDentity zero footprint USB token. The solution is unique since it not only represents a credential wallet, but also contains the entire application suite, including the web browser, thus ensuring complete independence of a malware-infected user PC. No software installation is required and no traces of user activities are left on the PC upon session termination. The software contained within the mIDentity token is fully protected against intentional or inadvertent manipulation. Digital signing of text-based content is supported to ensure no hidden content before it gets signed; "What You See is What You Get" (WYSIWYG) concept of a browser is prevented. The KOBIL and IdenTrust offering is therefore the only globally applicable, totally secure zero footprint solution for delivering consistent two-factor authentication and creating digital signatures, with guaranteed compatibility across banking applications and customer's environment.

The uniqueness of the solution is enhanced through KOBIL's Secure Update Server. The Server allows for easy management of updating the software on board of mIDentity remotely and securely under full control of the financial institution providing the tokens to its clients.

"KOBIL mIDentity enables a new approach to ensuring online trust. For the first time the users, including a growing population of nomadic workers, can rely on total security when performing their tasks. This technology has been adopted by a number of financial institutions in Europe. Through the partnership with IdenTrust it will now reach the global community of financial institutions and their clients." said Kris Nowak, Vice President of International Business Development at KOBIL.

"The innovative KOBIL technology complements IdenTrust globally interoperable identity credentials to enable the new standard in portable identity platform that meets the high security standards for identity without compromising individual privacy." said Christy Serrato, Director of Business Development at IdenTrust.
