Finextra, UKTI, LHV Bank and UK-Estonia TechLink to explore fintech collaboration opportunities

Finextra is collaborating with UK Trade and Investment on 19 November in Tallinn for an interactive event bringing together financial services and fintech players from the UK and Nordic-Baltic region.

Together, the UK and the Nordic-Baltic region is one of the most significant and active fintech territories globally, home to strong international financial institutions renowned for their forward-looking approach to IT deployment and a variety of technology suppliers ranging from established players to innovative entrepreneurs and start-ups.

Chris Sier, director, FiNexus and event chair says: "Etablished and new industry players from the UK and the Nordic-Baltic region have the ability to shape the future of the financial sector globally."

Following from the success of the launch event in Copenhagen the debate continues in Tallinn with topics around digital transformation, core banking and the client experience, disruption, innovation hubs, understanding the challenges of regulation and fintech, the opportunities presented by the PSD2 and traditional v alternative models.

UKTI and Finextra have gathered together a roll-call of illustrious speakers from across the UK and Estonia to discuss the the key issues, including Chris Holtby, the British ambassador to Estonia and keynote speakers Rain Lõhmus, chairman, LHV Capital and Claire Braithwaite, head of TechNorth, TechCity UK. Other speakers include representatives from HM Treasury, Payments UK, and Nordea.

The networking and debate will continue on 20 November with a related event running to coincide with the Digital 5 Ministerial meeting, which will discuss the utility of digital identity for the financial services industry.
