Chase ditches Windows app

US banking giant Chase is pulling its Windows mobile app at the end of the month because of a lack of users, telling customers to access their accounts via their browsers.

Chase customer Brandon Paddock tweeted a message from the bank informing him that the app will be removed from the Windows Phone store on 26 January.

In a statement given to WinBeta, a bank spokesperson explained: "We are focusing our support on the products our customers use the most. Starting March 22, 2015, we will no longer support the Chase Mobile App for Windows devices, which few customers use. Those customers can still access chase.com through their mobile browser."

First launched in 2012 and updated last August, the app - which lets customers check balances and transaction histories, pay bills, send money and deposit cheques - has an average four star rating out of 2294 reviews.
