Finextra expands into North America

Just as fintech steps from the shadows into the mainstream, Finextra is establishing a local North American editorial presence.

Matt White, longstanding Finextra staffer, will be basing himself in Toronto as North American editor, and covering events in the US and Canadian marketplaces. The move expands our time zone coverage beyond European business hours and allows us to add greater depth of detail to North American fintech news and events.

Established in 2000, Finextra has always taken a global perspective, providing breaking news on key issues for a worldwide audience of fintech professionals. This focus has evolved over time from being simply the journal of record covering everything newsworthy in the world of fintech, to becoming the default source of conversation, analysis and opinion on the evolution of the industry.

By establishing a presence in the North American market we expect to get closer to the issues that matter to our readers and community members in the USA and Canada. We'll be attending the major conferences, going behind the scenes with influential stakeholders from the commercial banking and capital markets sectors, and learning from the major technology suppliers to the financial services industry.

The new office will be open for business next week.

If you have editorial enquiries or other questions, they can be made through the usual editorial channels or to the news@finextra.com mailbox.
