KeyBank (KEY) today announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Aptexx, an innovative provider of payment and property management software.

This collaboration is the latest in a series of partnerships Key has established with emerging fintech providers.

Aptexx's Resident Anywhere™ service, combined with Key's real estate industry expertise and payments capabilities, provides property owners and managers with a centralized, mobile-first solution to collect rent payments, receive maintenance requests, deliver resident communications and administer one-click micro-surveys. The micro-surveys, which are delivered by text or email, provide property managers with deep insights and improved resident engagement. Property owners also benefit from higher occupancy rates, streamlined cash flow and increased net operating income.

Aptexx's SaaS-based platform is designed to integrate with real estate accounting systems, and allows property managers to bring new properties online without the need for heavy IT resources.

Combining Aptexx's focused approach to helping property managers improve the resident experience with Key's broad range of payments expertise creates one of the most dynamic solutions in the market today.

"This partnership with Aptexx exemplifies our strategy to leverage leading-edge fintech innovations and couple them with our deep industry expertise to deliver solutions that address our clients' specific needs," said Group Head of KeyBank Enterprise Commercial Payments Clark Khayat. "A simplified resident experience improves electronic payment adoption, which helps our real estate clients run their businesses better every day."

"Key's reputation as a leading provider of commercial real estate finance and payments capabilities makes it the ideal partner for our company," said Aptexx Founder and CEO William Evick. "We are pleased to have such an innovative bank as a partner. The team has demonstrated a strong commitment to the partnership with a focus on delivering a truly great client experience."

In addition to Aptexx, Key has formed partnerships with other fintech companies, including Philadelphia-based InstaMed and Charlotte, N.C.-based AvidXchange. InstaMed focuses on health care payments, while AvidXchange uses its software platform to digitize paper invoices. Key has made investments in both companies.
