Options, the leading private financial cloud provider for the global capital markets industry, today announced that it has completed the firm’s expansion into CME’s co-location facility in Aurora, IL.

This latest expansion sees the firm complete its build-out of all US exchange colocation venues and follows the IaaS provider’s recent expansion into the NYSE Euronext exchange co-location facility in Mahwah, which was completed in June of this year.

As with the Mahwah expansion, Options presence in Aurora further bolsters Options’ wider global network and data center footprint. In particular, the Aurora expansion complements co-lo venues in Cermack, Basildon and Frankfurt, enabling unsurpassed access to the leading derivatives trading venues, worldwide. In addition to the above venues, Options provides highly automated application and infrastructure hosting in the entire New Jersey colo corridor (including NY4, NJ2 and Carteret), Chicago, the entire London colo map (including Slough, Earl Street, Interxion, Telehouse and Park Royal), Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo.

Options’ Aurora and Mahwah hosting is underpinned by the firm’s Velocity platform, the IaaS provider’s ultra-low latency market data, connectivity and application hosting service. Each co-location venue is linked via the Velocity platform, providing unified access, security, high-speed storage, and proactive monitoring with 24x7 global support. Velocity clients will also be able to leverage Options’ extensive investment in Arista switching, which has reduced port-to-port latencies to under 400 nanoseconds.

Options CEO, Nigel Kneafsey, commented, “The Aurora expansion is particularly pleasing in that it is further evidence of the confidence the market is placing in the Options platform. Our aim has always been to build a product that will allow clients to focus solely on their trading and execution strategy, leaving the technology concerns to us. I believe our success in this regard is proven by the fact that the build-out in Aurora means Options now has a presence in all US exchange co-lo facilities.

Options is now a proven alternative for those electronic trading firms considering consolidating or exporting their high performance infrastructure and the Aurora co-lo will only extend that offering. Clients will be able to leverage the existing fastest fibre route, with port-to-port latencies of under 400 nanoseconds, between New Jersey and Chicago, offering our customers exceptional performance when trading across Chicago and the New York area trading venues,” concluded Mr Kneafsey.
