UL gets Mifare training accreditation

Source: UL

UL is proud to announce they have become an accredited Mifare training institute, offering five different Mifare training modules designed and constantly advanced by NXP Semiconductors, the owner and inventor of Mifare.

NXP offers registered partners on MIFARE.net various levels of MIFARE webinars and face-to-face trainings for system designers, solution developers and application engineers in the identification business. MIFARE training modules include practical workshop sessions where participants get trained on one dedicated technical topic taking place on a regular basis. UL will apply a sound mix of theoretical basics and practical exercises in combination with its extensive international project experience.

"This accreditation fits seamlessly with UL's earlier accreditations to provide MIFAREĀ® and MIFARE4Mobile certification services. It empowers UL to further spread the knowledge around MIFARE and MIFARE4Mobile and how certification can leverage both technologies. UL is committed to support customers with their developments of MIFARE based services such as public transport ticketing, loyalty, access control and micropayment to enhance their offering by unleashing the full potential of smart cards and smart phones," said Christian Brafine, Practice Leader Transit at UL Transaction Security.

"MIFARE is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2014. 20 years of constant innovation and dedication to enhance our products to make them the industry's best choice for many different contactless applications," said Martin Gruber, General Manager Smart Mobility & Retail at NXP Semiconductors. "Based on the experience of rolling out MIFARE in more than 650 cities in more than 150 countries, we have aggregated immense know-how and domain expertise and are happy to have UL on our side to help make this knowledge available to an ever increasing number of solution developers." UL is an exclusive leading test laboratory for MIFARE and MIFARE4Mobile certification services on behalf of NXP and the MIFARE4Mobile Industry Group.
