Markit, a leading, global financial information services company, today announced that Markit will integrate Selerity's dividend event data into the Markit Dividend product platform.

Selerity is a provider of real-time event data solutions for the financial services industry.

Markit's analysts will use Selerity's platform to identify key dividend announcements from US companies in real-time, allowing them to update their dividend forecasts as new information enters the market.

Markit will also integrate Selerity's real-time US dividend feed to generate intraday alerts automatically on a 45 minute delayed basis, allowing customers to stay abreast of key dividend-related announcements. Alerts will include changes to US companies' dividend amount, ex-dividend date, record date and payable date. This information is used in investment models employed by equity option traders.

Rob Jaeger, Managing Director, Equities at Markit, commented: "We are pleased to offer our customers access to Selerity's market leading low-latency news offering which will allow us to deliver a more timely dividend forecasting service."

Ryan Terpstra, Founder & CEO of Selerity added: "We are thrilled Markit has selected Selerity's dividend event data offering, which is a testament to the quality of our product platform."

The Markit Dividend service covers more than 6,500 of the most traded global equities. The service forecasts dividend amounts and payment schedules for up to four years and enables clients to improve the pricing of dividend baskets and portfolio revenue estimations.

Selerity's Real-time Dividend Event Data Feed delivers machine-readable dividend announcements from primary, authoritative sources on over 1,600 US companies. The data is available through both a co-located, ultra-low latency data feed and a real-time internet-based API. It is used by electronic traders looking to incorporate breaking announcements into their automated trading strategies for alpha generation and risk management.
